PROBLEMS WITH SOUND

There can be many reasons for sound problems and these can be very difficult to troubleshoot. Please note that in order to keep the size of the downloads as small as possible , all WordBanker words are recorded in Mono and of a lower sample rate as possible. This is much lower than CD quality but is perfectly adequate for the purpose of learning a language.

NO SOUND AT ALL

If there is no sound at all then please check the following please go through the windows troubleshooting in Windows help. Look particularly for the sound being muted in the windows mixer or the volume turned down.

If you are unable to get any sounds at all i.e. Windows sounds, a music CD (played through your PC speakers) then this is a fault with your windows set up and I am afraid it is beyond the scope of this WordBanker Help to help.

INTERMITTENT OR POOR QUALITY SOUND

If  the WordBanker words play sometimes but not always then please check the following:-

There is no other sound device i.e. an mp3 player etc open whilst using WordBanker.
Reboot your PC and try running WordBanker without any other programs running.
Go into "Control Panel > Sounds and Audio" , click the tab marked "Sounds" and test some of the Windows sounds. If you have the same problem playing sounds here then there is a fault with your PC. You could also try adjusting some of the audio settings which can be also be found in "Sounds and Audio".
